Job Description
Description • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition
• Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for the company
• Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions
• Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for the company
• Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve objectives
• Integrates and trains new staff while leading the continued professional development of the existing team
• Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
• Collaborates with President, VP Operations, and VP Engineering to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis
• Monitor and implement plant and purchasing controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks
• Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements
• Work with Plant Engineering to estimate product costs to support quoting activities
• The initial point of contact for our contract IT support
• Prepare quarterly briefing packets for the Board of Directors
• Provide direction and leadership for the HR department to ensure state and regulatory compliance in regards to HR law
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
At least 10 years’ experience in a similar position. Demonstrated expertise in ERP software, experience in SAGE is a bonus. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
PREFERRED SKILLS
Must have Microsoft Office experience. Experience with Sage accounting software preferable.
