Manager, Software Solution Specialist

Work You’ll Do

The Specialist possesses subject matter expertise (SME) in specific platforms, technologies, specific domain and/or tools that are strategic to the operation of the firm. The deep technical and functional knowledge, comprehensive skill sets, and relevant project experience ensures that project needs are met. The specialist will lead efforts in enterprise software administration, programming, and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide second-tier technical support for the ITS portfolio of custom and COTS products.
  • Mentor developers in software development principles and best practices.
  • Participate in technical design and code reviews to ensure high-quality products.
  • Work closely with the scrum master to support agile development practices.
  • Coordinate with product owners to create user stories and define requirements.
  • Support system upgrades which includes impact/gap analysis, applying patches, development, testing and deployment.
  • Verify system and application dependencies and other impactful areas to ensure successful deployments.
  • Ensure the production support process are followed as designed.
  • Responsible for maintaining production tickets, white papers, service groups, and product maintenance as defined by the channel.
  • Perform impact analysis on existing system for any new product, application, project or technology.
  • Work with product owners to architect, design, and implement high-quality products and solutions.
  • Transforms detailed requirements into detailed systems design document.
  • Support the development of application interface specifications.
  • Participate in end-to-end testing.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between the business and developers.
  • Work with the DevOps team to deploy and maintain applications.
  • Executes on tasks as defined and managed by the Enterprise Architect and/or Engagement Manager.

Deloitte Application Studios (DAS)

Deloitte Application Studios (DAS) is the internal software and applications development team responsible for delivering leading-edge technologies to Deloitte professionals. Their broad portfolio includes web and mobile productivity tools that empower our people to log expenses, enter timesheets, book travel and more, anywhere, anytime. DAS enables our client service professionals through a comprehensive suite of applications across the business lines. In addition to application delivery, DAS offers full-scale design services, a robust mobile portfolio, cutting-edge analytics, and innovative custom development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience leading technical teams
  • Minimum of 6 + years of hands-on development experience in a full-stack environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with .NET. C#, SQL and object oriented programming
  • Experience with Angular or similar JavaScript framework
  • Proficient in software development lifecycle methodologies (i.e. Agile, KANBAN, SAFe).
  • Strong demonstrable skillset with core JavaScript experience.
  • Intermediate Azure Dev Ops understanding.
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Certification in subject matter area desired, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Local, State, and Federal government processes.
  • Experience with GIT or similar code repositories.
  • Knowledge of Agile and SAFe Agile processes
  • Understanding of design and project management of business software solutions; channel specific business and domain (functional/technical) knowledge; project software development life cycle experience; project software development lifecycle exposure.
  • Awareness of architecture standards design and implementation (including strategy, user experience, performance, controls, stability, quality, innovation, and enterprise security requirements).
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the client business organization.
  • Able to take a complex set of requirements and formulate functional specifications for development.
  • Able to define testing strategy, as needed, to support development and maintenance of assigned products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the range is $95,070 to $195,215.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
