Description:

The Budget and Finance Systems Analyst designs, develops, implements, modifies, and maintains the budget and financial monitoring application and process. They recommend solutions to enhance the functionality of the application. They participate in project teams associated with the further development and/or implementation of the application.

Position responsibilities:

+ Coordinates and maintains the integrity of the budgeting and financial monitoring system. This includes auditing the data, verification of daily and monthly interface functions and interpreting information reflected in these systems. Analyze the needs for changes to existing applications or changes needed to support new services or needs.

+ Coordinate project implementation between Information Technologies, end users and vendors where appropriate by serving as project manager or team member. Communicate progress to appropriate levels of management within Finance and Information Technologies.

+ Provide technical support to both internal Finance and external users on an as needed basis.

+ Prepares and submits all required financial and statistical surveys to third party and government agencies on an annual or quarterly basis.

+ Prepares, analyzes, and explains ad hoc analysis, as requested, using financial, statistical, or patient visit data sources. Provides technical and informational assistance, as well as guidance, to others on the use of these sources.

+ Assists in the processing and analysis of the biweekly labor analysis. Identifying departments that are over their budgeted FTE’s.

+ Provides formal training classes to both internal staff and external users on the budget system as well as analysis related to building a budget.

+ Adhere to Finance standards and promote continuous quality improvement of the budgeting and financial monitoring process. Participate in and encourage team building activities and staff development.
