Job Description

Responsible for the administration of off-site placement testing.   Facilitates the set up process for off-site testing and works closely in data loads into the campus ERP system including the creation of and auditing of person and testing electronic records.  Through the use of technology, provides a clear process for training new employees. Assists staff with the day-to-day operations of the Testing Center including the administration, proctoring and scoring of tests.   Interprets the College Assessment and credit by exam policy to students and Harper faculty and staff.

Assists in requests to bring assessment testing to off-campus locations.

Receives, interprets and processes student data from partner high school districts to facilitate off-site testing.

Enters data into the ERP system including the creation of person records – including duplicate checking and entering alternate ID’s, high school records and test score information.

Facilitates the tracking and auditing of each student’s results as they are loaded into Banner as a result of off-site testing.  Helps resolve issues related to id mismatches, incorrect data, etc. 

Administers assessment tests to all walk-in students.

Administers group exams and assists with the paperwork of follow-up reporting.

Administers telecourse, proctored, make-up proficiency and vocational tests to students.

Assists in the uploading of all assessment scores into the College’s ERP System including COMPASS tests, ACT and CLEP.   Resolves any discrepancies or database errors.

Manually enters assessment scores waivers, blocks, math competency, ABT and other notations that are not uploaded automatically into the Banner System.

Assists with Day One orientation check-in process, providing computer records obtained by importing data for rosters, tallies and systems fitting the needs of CNSO, ESL Dept. and Assessment and Testing.

Assists in  the set-up and importing of New Student Orientation Records and Schedules (activity codes) into SARS.

Assists in the administration and scoring of computerized vocational tests and monitoring the CPP Software package. 

Answers telephone, receives students, scores tests by hand and by scantron, and performs all other front desk functions when receptionist is unable.

Assists with developing the yearly testing calendar and schedules rooms for testing.

Assists with implementation of the proficiency testing process by determining the awarding of credit and faculty reimbursement.

Monitors files and notifies Cook County of students who have fulfilled the Constitution requirement for GED certification.

Prepares various reports such as the monthly and annual Center traffic summary as requested by the Testing Center Manager.

Develops and leads a training program guided for new employees through Blackboard modules. Collaborates with her colleagues to organize the face-to-face and hands-on aspects of new employee training as well.  

Maintains various departmental files.

Performs related duties as assigned.
