+ This position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and promoting a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for our guests and team members.

+ Plans layout, installs, troubleshoot and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.

+ Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.

+ Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.

Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.

+ Pulls wiring through conduit.

+ Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.

+ Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.

+ Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.

+ Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.

+ Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.

+ Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.

+ Repairs faulty equipment or systems including circuits, circuit protection devices, lights, outlets, motors, etc.

+ Has a working knowledge of transformers, generators, and switchgear.

+ Responsible for the installation of new circuits/equipment.

+ Initiates requisitions for materials and supplies; prepares reports and maintains records of repairs.

+ Responsible for all repairs to existing circuits/equipment.

+ Works with electrical contractors to ensure proper completion of all major electrical projects.

+ Maintains knowledge of current electrical codes, rules, regulations, and requirements.

+ Prepares and maintains accurate records, files, and reports.

+ Knows and understands company and departmental organizational structure, and adheres to all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

+ Other duties as assigned.

+ High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of full-time, wage-earning experience as an Electrician in maintenance, construction, or an industrial environment required.

+ Completion of an apprenticeship program may substitute for two years of the required experience.

+ Must understand and speak the English language.

+ Must have knowledge of installation and maintenance of electrical equipment.

+ Ability to operate equipment and machinery related to the assigned area.

+ Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, diagrams, and schematics.

+ Ability to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.

+ Ability to perform mathematical calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

+ Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.

+ Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing only the essential functions include computer and related equipment, typewriter, copier, fax machine, voltage meter, amp meter, various electrical tools, telephone, and automobile.

+ Must have a valid illinois Driver’s License.

+ This position is required to drive a company vehicle and adhere to the company MVR policy.

+ Must be willing to be on call in case an emergency arises.

+ Must be willing to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee requires manual dexterity to operate all necessary equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs., occasionally. Must be able to lift 70+ pounds, have ability to ascend and descend heights on ladders and lifts, and work in a variety of harsh climates.
