Intern - Service Center Operations

Job Description

To learn OD operations and culture and complete several projects throughout the internship eventually “filling-in” for the operations supervisor during the last few weeks of the program.

Primary Responsibilities

+ Learn the dock operations by shadowing the SVC Operations Supervisor

+ Participate in monitoring the daily safety of each employee

+ Learn and participate in evaluating and teaching safe lifting techniques

+ Learn proper loading and unloading techniques and ensure compliance

+ Learn how to manage employee work schedules and time off request

+ Learn the service center operations and make suggestions for improvements

+ Learn DOT and OSHA regulations and ensure compliance

+ Learn AS400, BLU system, DYMS and all other computer/internal freight monitoring systems

+ Learn to operate a forklift

Job Qualifications

Education:

+ High school diploma or equivalent, currently attending college
