The Opportunity
The Sr. IT Business Analyst provides Manufacturing and Supply Chain system support to manufacturing business teams across North America. Works directly with internal clients and applies IT, business knowledge and experience to determine process alignment with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and ERP systems, and determines root causes of any issues encountered by the manufacturing and supply chain Business teams while utilizing the MES and ERP software to run manufacturing and supply chain business process.
Primary liaison between the IT and business area in manufacturing and supply chain domain.
Analyzes business processes; elicits, analyzes, and documents business requirements; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility, and makes recommendations that are best for the company overall.
Works directly with internal clients and applies IT and business knowledge and experience to develop and understand the business case and business requirements to solve for technology related business problems.
Translates business requirements for system changes into functional requirements; performs data and process modeling; manages change.
Leads and coordinates testing; Prepares testing plans to confirm that requirements and system design are accurate and complete, performs verification, and user acceptance.
Leads department level initiatives and provides assistance to Program or Project managers on phases of a larger project.
Perform project management activities including maintenance of project schedules to ensure tasks are completed within scheduled timeframe.
Provides system support to end users and administrators to resolve business and technical problems.
Identifies trends and recommends proactive solutions to recurring issues.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Performs work using existing standards, methodologies and processes and understands other systems/business processes relationship to each other.
Partners with Corporate service providers and IT partners to investigate alternatives, which use existing applications.
Identifies, proposes, initiates, and leads implementation of process improvements. Makes recommendations to process stakeholders regarding the correct approach to achieve process improvement objectives
Maintains productive relationships with peers and management in IT and the business function to ensure effective communication and appropriate status awareness.
Serves as a source of information to the IT organizations on the business drivers, processes, and organization structure.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent years of experience
5-7 years of experience in IT business analysis in regulated manufacturing environment
Strong project management and organizational skills
Solid experience with Software Life Cycle (SLC) based on Waterfall and Agile methodology
Ability to drive requirements and project work through to closure
Strong interdisciplinary, excellent intercultural influence, and networking skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
5-7 years’ experience with ERP systems (JDE, SAP and others)
2-4 years’ experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Systems highly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in a Business Information discipline or equivalent experience
2 years of manufacturing / shop floor knowledge / experience
2 years of experience with Supply Chain support to business
4 years of experience in Software Life Cycle and documentation
5 Years of experience in working in an IT environment independently and in teams.
