Key Responsibilities:

Sr. Analyst – Inventory Optimization supports spare part inventory modeling enhancements, including expendable and rotable components to support the Maintenance operations of United Airlines fleet. This role is part of the team accountable for identifying enhancement opportunities, improving spare parts inventory plans, and streamlining the optimization process. The role will work closely with the planning teams to identify inventory planning opportunities aligned with the organizational goals

What’s needed to succeed:

+ BS degree in a quantitative field such as math, statistics, operations research or engineering

+ At least two years of experience in an analytical, optimization/statistical modeling or process improvement-oriented role in supply chain, aviation, manufacturing or related industry

+ Familiarity with optimization models and tools

+ Familiarity with scripting programming languages (e.g., R, SAS, Python)

+ Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, Palantir Foundry, MS-Power BI or equivalent)

+ Ability to identify opportunities in existing processes where analytical insights support quality/service level improvement and/or cost reduction opportunities

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Experience communicating and visualizing complex analysis results to business leaders

What will help you propel from the pack:

+ MS degree in a quantitative field such as math, optimization, statistics, data science and/or MBA

+ Understanding of supply chain operations, planning and management

+ Experience in optimization, statistics, industrial engineering or related field involving solving complex business problems

+ At least one year of airline experience

+ At least one year of supply chain experience

+ Experience with inventory optimization techniques

+ Familiarity with multi-echelon supply chain models

+ Familiarity with spare parts inventory planning methods

+ Familiarity with database models (e.g., RDBMS, Hadoop) with high-level proficiency integrating complex transactional data in relational databases using SQL

+ Programming experience in a scripting language such as Python, R

+ Familiarity with optimization modeling tools and techniques

+ Experience with developing simulation techniques (i.e., Monte Carlo, discrete event simulation)
