Police Auxiliary Supervisor (Police Department) part-time

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $31.90 - $35.49 per hour working up to 19 hours per week. Salary dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $31.90 - $46.26.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position shall assist with the daily functions and specific assigned duties, tasks, and responsibilities of the auxiliary officers and/or other personnel assigned to the Real-Time Information Center (RTIC). This position could be assigned to coordinate the activities and the work of the auxiliary officers assigned to shift and ensure that the functions are properly supervised. This position could be assigned the responsibility of ensuring technical resources are working in a manner to support personnel working with the RTIC systems and will serve as a liaison with Information Technology and other police divisions. This position is a non-sworn employee who shall not carry a firearm, nor be assigned duties requiring sworn officer status, shall wear an authorized uniform, maintain hours appropriate to the assignment, and receive training appropriate to the duties performed.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will need to effectively communicate to a full range of people, inside and outside the organization, capable of prioritizing and organizing time and resources effectively, and complete work with accuracy. We are looking to add a team member with the ability to shift gears comfortably and the capacity to understand and be sensitive to the feelings of others.

Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

JOB DUTIES:
1. Maintains a working knowledge of skills and general knowledge of laws required to perform assignments.
2. Supervises subordinates in a responsible and professional manner. Prepares employee appraisals and complete annual evaluations. Documents all positive and negative performance issues for employees.
3. Submits and approves payroll electronically.
4. Schedules all permanent work details, short notice details, and information center personnel. Fills short-notice openings due to illness, etc. Maintains the auxiliary assignment board and update changes.
5. Prepares clear, accurate, and completes reports and documents. Reviews daily activity reports and directed patrol assignment reports.
6. Trains, evaluates, and updates new Police Auxiliary Officers and/or personnel assigned.
7. Maintains issued equipment and present a neat, orderly, well-groomed appearance in accordance with Policy 32-10. Reports any missing, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment, and police vehicle damage to the watch commander.
8. Prepares miscellaneous procedural emails.
9. Notifies supervisors or communications personnel of any situations encountered that are outside the realm of authority for a Police Auxiliary Supervisor.
10. Compiles data and reports of all citations, Denver boots, valet checks, and prisoners processed.
11. Female Auxiliary Supervisors shall assume the responsibility for the proper handling of all female prisoners in accordance with Policy 48-10.
12. Creates and maintains the daily auxiliary roster.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
