Job Description

Position Overview

As a Manager, Hydrogen Development, you will manage the development of hydrogen projects throughout the United States. The role would be an ideal opportunity for an ambitious self-starter looking to build on existing experience in greenfield or brownfield renewable, thermal, or chemical project development to help fuel the growth of one of the most dynamic and entrepreneurial companies in the sustainability industry.

Responsibilities

+ Lead development activities in early, mid, and / or late stages of the project

+ Manage hydrogen projects to align projects with long-term company strategy and initiatives

+ Identify development prospects, including fatal flaw identification and initial site reconnaissance

+ Secure site control for development prospects, including negotiating leases, easements and other agreements with landowners.

+ Take a lead role in obtaining certain local, state, and or federal permits

+ Represent Invenergy with partners, landowners, state, and local officials and other stakeholders

+ Coordinate the engineering team’s design and engineering to ensure that the project’s commercial intention is met

+ Lead project budgeting from early stage prospecting through permitting and turnover to engineering/construction

+ Manage tasks according to budgets and schedules, including coordinating internal and external technical support.

+ Coordinate internal teams, including permitting, GIS, grid interconnection, engineering and project management, and land management as needed

Required Skills

+ Bachelor’s degree (engineering or science degrees preferred but not required)

+ 5+ years experience in the energy, chemical, or industrial sectors

+ Valid drivers license

+ Travel >25%

Preferred Skills

+ Demonstrated expertise in development

+ Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting skills.

+ Ability to manage the development and strategic process for hydrogen projects.

+ Strong public speaking and personal skills.

+ Ability to write effective, concise reports.

+ Familiarity with project development, real estate development, transmission and power project engineering are advantageous.

+ Collaborative team-player who will work with others to deliver results and share the credit across a team

+ Hydrogen experience is a plus but not required.

+ 5+ years of experience in similar role preferred. ?

About the Team

Invenergy’s Emerging Technology team is responsible for developing and commercializing new technology opportunities for the company by identifying potential projects and advancing them through the development and commercial process. This includes site identification, permitting, resource measurement, establishing interconnection positions and community engagement.
