Coordinates shift production efforts to meet customer and management goals and expectations via scheduling personnel at the proper stations, ensuring production machinery functionality, verifying production records, training operators, and monitoring daily output of each station.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Production:
+ Typical duties include mold set-up and adjustment of molding/assembly machines, equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs, preventive maintenance, quality checks, material handling including filling/emptying machine hoppers, housekeeping and operator instruction.
+ Maintains proper function of equipment to include verifying set-up parameters, condition of machine, verification of machine cycle time/yield/product quality, and overall consistency of processes.
+ Provides leadership, training, coaching to all shift personnel in conjunction with developing and maintaining an effective and cohesive group dynamic and teamwork to achieve business goals and objectives.
+ Observes and evaluates skills and work habits of shift personnel and fosters a work environment where employee growth and success is achieved.
+ Ensures shift operator/technician coverage consistent with production schedule and organizational needs.
+ Responsible for operator & shift technician performance reviews.
+ Ensure comprehensive and complete communication with oncoming shift relative to production status, labor, quality, shipping and maintenance.
+ Ensures operational compliance with labor, output and quality standards set by the Operations Manager.
+ Provides information to management regarding labor and machine productivity.
+ Drives overall reduction in scrap and elimination of waste on respective shift.
+ Executes the production schedule and allocates personnel accordingly. If unable to meet planned schedule, notifies Logistics & Manufacturing Manager or makes appropriate changes as needed.
+ Works closely with and in support of the Logistics Manager to ensure appropriate manufacturing priorities are followed in order to meet customer delivery requirements.
+ Communicates issues, concerns and shop floor status to incoming shift personnel and supporting departments (i.e. Quality, Tooling & Maintenance, etc.)
+ Performs other production functions such as machine operation, press assignments, operator relief, training of new/current employees as needed to maintain machine uptime and output.
+ Assists in monitoring materials and inventory of raw materials/finished goods. ? Ensure daily production schedule is updated with production numbers at shift close. Verifies accuracy of production paperwork at each station.
Quality
+ Ensures that corrective actions are implemented and verified according to Quality System requirements when notified of non-conforming product quality or customer complaints.
+ Support quality assurance as necessary in the completion of internal and external 8D requirements and quality concerns.
+ Has authority and responsibility to stop processes due to quality concerns.
+ Maintains compliance with ISO/TS 16949:2009 standards and ITW Filter Products Quality Management System.
Safety
+ Verifies that procedures necessary for a safe manufacturing operations are followed according to company policies and procedures.
+ Maintain a safe and accident free work environment.
+ Report unsafe conditions and security concerns to Production Leadership Team.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Strong injection molding experience (5+ years).
+ Training and experience in RJG process monitoring methodology is a plus.
+ Ability to work with multiple levels within the organization.
+ Excellent communications skills (listening, coordinating information between operators and management, verbal and written).
+ Ability to prioritize, organize, schedule.
+ Strong supervisory, leadership and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong work ethic, ability to work independently and within a team setting.
+ Experience with ISO/TS 16949:2009 requirements.
+ Must possess good communication/interpersonal skills, excellent visual skills for accessing functionality of equipment.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel).
+ Able to enter production and maintenance records into software on a computer.
+ Must be able to operate lift trucks and fork trucks.
+ Must be able to speak, read, comprehend, and write the English language.
+ Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings.
+ Ability to operate digital caliper and optical comparator.
+ Ability to lift 50lbs to table height regularly.
+ Ability to maneuver freely while working around machines including but not limited to crawling, kneeling, squatting, reaching, bending.
