Job Description

Assists with tax planning and implementation, serves as a resource to the organization, conducts tax research, highly competent as a reviewer of Forms 1040, 1041 and 990-PF’s, interacts with professional advisors and represents taxpayers during examinations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Conducts tax research and prepares tax memos.

+ Identifies tax planning opportunities.

+ Reviews Forms 1040, 1041 and 990-PF’s and workpapers.

+ Assures that all Forms 1040, 1041 and 990-PF’s are filed in a timely and accurate manner.

+ Serves as a resource to management and peers.

+ Mentors, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops staff.

+ Assigns duties and monitors quality of work.

+ Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of staff.

+ Facilitates positive team culture.

+ Assists with IRS and state tax audits.

+ Manages collaboration with external consultants and advisors.

+ Assists with special projects as required.

+ Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

+ Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

+ Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:

+ CPA; bachelor’s degree in accounting required

+ MST or advanced degree preferred

+ Seven to ten years related experience or equivalent

+ Highly competent in tax laws

+ Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates

+ Commitment to excellence and high standards

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

+ Ability to work with all levels of management

+ Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

+ Ability to manage priorities and workflow

+ Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

+ Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

+ Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
