US Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager - Stand-alone Produc

Job Description

The Portfolio Manager is accountable to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis (e.g., financials, industry, account performance, etc.) on an assigned portfolio of accounts, assessing the overall financial health of the commercial entity, credit risk to the Bank and recommend, address or elevate to the appropriate level.

The role is accountable to understand the different customer segments and strategies to support the Corporate Card Business in the management of their portfolio of accounts by providing accurate, effective, and efficient portfolio quality monitoring, identifying, correcting, and decisioning or advising of any deficiencies and exceptions, including recommendations to remedy, to ensure asset and credit quality are maintained at an acceptable level.

+ Prepare initial and ongoing credit submissions for assigned Portfolio or Portfolio relationships.

+ Maintain acceptable asset quality in the portfolio of existing loan accounts through the monitoring of accounts for compliance to terms and conditions, completion of annual reviews and day to day account operation, identifying and actioning deteriorating risk situations and material exceptions, with timely advice to appropriate level for further attention and regularization.

+ Provide timely, accurate service and support to Corporate Card Sales Team to ensure the retention of valuable commercial clients and to identify and recommend workflow & process alternatives which can lead to improved efficiency and service levels.

+ Ensure the completeness and acceptable quality of documentation, providing authorization for utilization of Corporate Card programs..

+ Ensures credit decisions and/or recommendations are in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and in compliance with the Bank’s policies and related procedures (e.g., Lending Directives, Commercial Lending Policy, etc.), completing analysis; completing and recommending credit applications for authorization under Commercial Lending Policy.

+ Proactively support Corporate Card Sales Team in client relationship management activities, contacting clients for matters related to portfolio management and routine credit-related matters, identifying sales opportunities and referring as appropriate ·Protect the Bank’s assets and maintain the quality of the portfolio by adhering to all lending regulations, Policies and Procedures, legal and ethical requirements process requirements and established risk guidelines.

+ Portfolio Manager will be trained on systems, models and policies to manage accounts in the US and Canada.

+ Apply risk management practices identifying deteriorating risk situations, managing risk and minimizing losses through monitoring, ensuring compliance requirements, audits and verifications are completed in accordance with Bank Policies & Procedures and regulatory, legal and ethical requirements.

+ As appropriate, co-ordinate planning, implementation and review activities with Commercial Banking colleagues to ensure customers needs/expectations are met and/or exceeded.

+ Develop, implement and review a plan to complete all assigned Scheduled Reviews in a timely manner to acceptable quality standards.

+ Role may discretionary base limits up to $500M, (No unilateral).Accounts above the discretionary limit will be proposed to PMs or SPMs for recommendation.

+ Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

+ Protect the Bank’s assets and maintain the quality of the portfolio by adhering to all lending regulations, Policies and Procedures, legal and ethical requirements process requirements and established risk guidelines.

+ Manage risk and minimize losses through monitoring and control reports, ensuring compliance requirements, audits and verifications are completed in accordance with Bank Policies & Procedures and regulatory, AML, legal and ethical requirements.

Qualifications:

+ Typically between 4 – 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
