We are searching for an innovative Senior Conversion Analyst / Developer to join our team, who will be responsible for analyzing, mapping, cleansing, converting, and validating prior authorization and related data sets in order to ingest them into our system. Using an in-depth understanding of healthcare data and analysis strategies, this individual will be accountable for becoming very familiar with various UHC Clinical Services data sets in order to determine what needs to be done to ingest them into our prior authorization system and build the conversion jobs to do so. To succeed, this position will analyze, map, convert, and validate crucial data utilizing solid data collection skills, which will allow for seamless incorporation into our solution.

This individual will need to have a natural desire to dig into large data sources and apply statistical rigor in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the data so that it can be mapped and converted accurately. The ideal candidate will have a knack for detailed data analysis and the ability to build technical solutions to convert the data into a production system.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Access, extract and merge data from different data sources, formats, platforms and systems; utilize data scrubbing techniques to ensure data accuracy, including parsing, data transformation, duplicate elimination, and statistical modeling

+ Collaborate with non-technical business subject matter experts in a clear and concise manner to work through the build out of conversion logic that will address data anomalies

+ Author and maintain documentation surrounding the mapping and cleansing of source data as it is transformed into our prior authorization system

+ Design, build, test, deliver and maintain conversion jobs that cleanse and transform data from various source data sets into our prior authorization system

+ Systematically verify and document that all source data is accurately converted, validated, and accounted for as it is transformed into our prior authorization system

+ Participate in meetings with client teams to iteratively present conversion / validation results

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, specialized training/certification or equivalent work experience

+ 4+ years of experience as a Conversion Developer or similar role, building code to cleanse, transform, and enhance data sets as they are converted from one format (system) to another

+ 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, facilitating and documenting requirements (such as mapping documents, process flows, test cases, and/or business requirement documents) gathered from both business and IT counterparts

+ 2+ years of experience working with Databases, SQL

+ Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access

+ Proven solid organizational skills, time management and critical thinking skills

+ Proven solid verbal and written communication skills, ability and comfort presenting to leadership and client teams

+ Proven extremely collaborative; proactive; high integrity; highly reliable

Preferred Qualifications:

+ 3+ years of conversion specific experience

+ Experience working with data in multiple formats, from flat files to relational database structures

+ ETL process and tools experience

+ Knowledge of healthcare administrative data (prior authorizations, medical claims, enrollment, provider data)

+ Advanced Proficiency with Structured Query Language (SQL)

+ Proficiency and understanding of IT management, data storage structures

Soft Skills:

+ Intuitive, self-starter with solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
