What You Will Do :
The Energy Sustainability & Infrastructure (ES&I) Analytics team is seeking a technical lead with proven experience delivering market potential studies for demand-side technologies (e.g., energy efficiency, demand response, electrification) to energy utility clients. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more demand-side technologies and experience with systems dynamics, benefit-cost analysis, optimization, uncertainty and scenario analysis, product development, leading technical workstreams, and client-facing communications. This position will be part of a team of data scientists and modelers supporting diverse client needs, and will have significant collaboration opportunities with Guidehouse’s distributed energy resources (DER) forecasting work. Common responsibilities include:
+ Develop, operate, and maintain potential study models
+ Lead technical workstreams on engagements and technical elements of report development, stakeholder presentations, and client requests
+ Interpret and communicate the implications of technical findings to non-technical internal and external client audiences
+ Organize tasks and schedules of self and technical team for delivering high quality, client-ready technical work
+ Collaborate across teams to problem-solve and provide content expertise to tailor solutions for individual clients

What You Will Need :
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related fields or equivalent work experience
+ Experience developing models in the energy industry (e.g., in Analytica, Python, R, or related languages)
+ Experience working with one or more DERs (e.g., energy efficiency, demand response, electric vehicles, solar, storage)
+ Experience working on potential studies for energy utility clients
+ Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form with internal team members and external clients
+ Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
+ Ability to creatively problem solve and rapidly learn new modeling platforms and concepts
+ Ability to assume ownership of technical workstreams in a client-facing role
+ Demonstrated experience overseeing work of individuals
What Would Be Nice To Have :
+ Experience with systems dynamics, benefit-cost analysis, optimization, uncertainty and scenario analysis
+ Experience with product development
+ Experience with source code version control technologies such as Git and Azure DevOps
+ Experience in Analytica, Python, and R
+ Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS), geodatabases, spatial processes
+ Experience with Snowflake
The annual salary range for this position is $71,200.00-$142,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
