Position Summary of the Staff Accountant Oversee the coordination of the plant operations’ daily accounts payable activities. This would include various department reports and financial information for the operations. The role also assists with monthly close activities, payables and receivables. Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To: - Matches invoices with receipts or direct billing and vouch invoices. - Prepares sales/use tax monthly form. - Assist in year end 1099 preparation - Maintains a current aged receipts not vouched sub-ledger by resolving issues timely - Reconciles and clears intercompany accounts monthly - Invoice consigned goods and reconcile to customer’s on hand balance - Review daily variances in A/P and Subcontract rate and collaborate with cross functional areas to resolve issues or substantiate variance - Assists with month end close activities. - Reconciles and clears intercompany accounts - Process I/C JE for freight charges and analyze freight expense - Accrue for services incurred, but not yet billed, utilities, credit cards, outside sorting - Assist with various other journal entries as needed - Prepares monthly account reconciliations in accordance with company accounting policies. - Supports AR by billing one time charges and credit memos - Rolls standard cost for new parts or significant cost changes on existing parts. - Prepares summaries and analysis of information as directed. - Maintains filing systems. - Assist with external audit request - Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications-Education/Experience Required: - Bachelor’s degree with concentration in accounting/finance - 2+ years basic accounting experience - Ability to maintain confidentiality. - Knowledge of basic accounting principles. - Strong math aptitude. - Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. - Detail oriented and strong accuracy. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Strong interpersonal skills.
