Job Description

PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS

Greets all guests in a professional and courteous manner, and provides accurate and timely information and therapies. Performs assigned spa nail therapies on guests utilizing various modalities and assuring the enjoyment and satisfaction of the guests.   Direct all efforts toward the achievement and maintenance of all the spa standards and maximization of profit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Performs consultation, therapy analysis and verbal communication with every guest seeking nail services. Solicit information regarding medical conditions that may be impacted by therapy.
  • Performs all nail therapies for which training has been received in the allotted time period.
  • Maintains therapies within the state guidelines of the state Nail Technician license. Perform manicures, pedicures, and waxing therapies to coincide with protocols.  Massage area limited to the lower arm, hand, lower leg and feet.  Perform therapy on all guests regardless of age, (12 yrs and older), gender or ethnicity.
  • Sanitizes all areas of treatment room to protocol including all instruments, tools, and appliances used for therapies.
  • Fresh linens are to be used for every guest.
  • Promotes and sells spa retail merchandise
  • Keep therapy rooms fully stocked.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Maintains good customer relations by responding to guest inquiries regarding spa reservations, therapy descriptions, and answering any other questions a guest may have in a timely and knowledgeable manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.  Certification from a college, technical school or accredited facility as a Nail Technician; and three to six months related experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors, and fellow associates.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction and multiplication.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to analyze routine data to make appropriate judgments regarding the process of guest therapies at the spa. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be a certified and licensed Illinois Nail Technician.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Associates must be able to stand for extended periods of time.  Use of hands, fingers, and arms is required.  Job frequently requires standing, walking, bending, and crouching.

HOURS

Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime.  Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
