Roles & Responsibilities:

+ Understand the engineering definitions, scoping and liaise with process planner, CAM engineers to develop concept design & buy off

+ Incorporate stage drawing specs into fixture design while considering machine interface, ergonomics & production requirements

+ Ability to create jigs & fixture specification drawings in Nx, Solidworks and other tool platform incorporating GD&T for manufacturing,

+ Demonstrate system dependencies of Jigs and fixture model with respect to finite element, stress and strain verification and Hand calculation analysis

+ Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of machine tool interfaces and component specific requirements

+ Ability to recreate, modify, update legacy Jigs & fixture drawings

+ Work & co-ordinate with offshore-onsite Teams, cross-functional teams, local experts, partners and suppliers to ensure technical aspects, export controls are understood and accounted for as required

+ Liaise, support with customer & vendor for Jigs & fixture Manufacturing, testing verification/prove outs and commissioning

+ Simulate tooling installation as needed

+ Define & establish asset care and calibration routines for new tool/fixture concepts

+ Define, establish, and manage Jigs & fixture documentation

+ Drive process standardization, waste elimination and continuous improvement

+ Support the investigation of all non-conformance reports and all responses using proven Problem solving methodology

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

+ Good knowledge on various manufacturing processes

+ Fully conversant reading engineering & manufacturing drawings

+ Basic understanding of the principles of kinematics and distortion

+ Knowledge of modular fixtures & incorporating hydraulics & pneumatics into Jig & fixture design for high performance & customized ones

+ In-depth application analysis of Jig/fixture (FEA) finite element analysis and/or other specialist analysis

+ Knowledge & implementation techniques for Ease of use, Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), Poke Yoke exploited throughout the Jigs and fixtures design

+ Knowledge of NRC Manufacturing Jigs & fixture cost estimation and material selection

+ Hands on experience designing fixtures, analysing the designed fixtures for robustness and life expected using hand calculations or using analysis tool as per test plan

+ Sound knowledge interpreting the Tool design standards, GD&T (standards ASME , JES 161)

+ Basic Knowledge in using Measuring & Testing equipment’s

+ Able to support Root Cause analysis and implementation of problem solving techniques

+ Knowledge of D/PFMEA, VSA, Risk & Failure mode analysis & LEAN

+ Awareness of aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, various ISO)

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

+ Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.

+ Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.

+ Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.

+ Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM

+ Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
