Job Description
Nokia of America Corporation, Research Specialist (Multiple Positions), Naperville, IL.
Design and standardize current and future radio technologies for use in Nokia's cellular and broadband wireless network products. Perform analysis and simulation of cellular radio systems to support the design and development of algorithms and radio technologies. Provide associated technical recommendations and patent new technology for 5G cellular evolution. Determine appropriate parameters for the latest 5G cellular systems and draft standards contributions for both regional and international standards. Work with Nokia standard representatives to the International Telecom Union (ITU), other regional standards bodies and industry alliances to promote the scenarios developed. Propose new solutions in the areas of cellular protocols, frame structures and waveforms to address technical issues.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Master’s or foreign equivalent in computer engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications or a related field.
Must have gained at least 3 years of research experience with each of the following:
- Analysis and simulation of cellular radio systems;
- Cellular radio resource management and scheduling;
- Analyzing system designs for broadband technologies;
- Cellular radio transceiver algorithms; and
- Massive Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) adaptive antenna techniques as associated with cellular radio.
Domestic and international travel up to 15% is required.
