Senior Sourcing Specialist - Global

OTTO’s opportunity:
Our Senior Sourcing Specialist – Global position is accountable for execution and implementation of effective global procurement strategies for production parts and materials. This includes development of short-term and long-term sourcing strategies and programs that align with OTTO company goals for reducing costs and meeting financial expectations, managing supplier relationships, project performance and process efficiencies. Daily activities include extensive interface within OTTO Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Quality disciplines.
Specifically, the Senior Sourcing Specialist – Global will:
- Analyze quotations, provide strategic component, material and supplier sourcing recommendations
- Facilitate technical design reviews with suppliers, in order to confirm manufacturability
- Manage tactical purchasing activities such as expediting material, past due PO’s, open PO’s, PO confirmations, Receiving/Purchasing related issues, Accounting/Purchasing related issues, etc. during prototype / development
- Work with production buyers to transfer material purchasing responsibility once the new parts have obtained approved status
- Participate in strategic meetings with suppliers and OTTO business leaders to ensure execution of defined global strategies
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all internal departments and associates to service both day-to-day and project related needs
- Conduct supplier visits/audits, provide detailed feedback to appropriate OTTO personnel and monitor action item responses
- Cultivate new product, process and technology improvements from existing and potential suppliers
- Identify and assess potential opportunities, develop business cases, and present recommendations to OTTO business leaders for initiatives that will result in cost reductions, process improvements, and risk mitigation
- Build and implement global sourcing strategies that optimize the total cost of ownership and include developing supplier relationship strategies and overall supplier management in accordance with OTTO Materials strategy
- Project management including the dissemination of status and follow through on action items within the supply chain and OTTO disciplines
- Actively monitor and document tooling selection through complete cycle of RFQ and project tool up completing with sample approval and alpha release
- Drive compliance of global sourcing policy and procedures for supplier selection and approval
- ERP documentation including all aspects of part set-up, material routing and BOM costing
- Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) as needed – including developing and processing Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and assisting in part analysis
- Assist with other related duties as required or assigned
