Job Description
Sustainable Buildings Specialist (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Architecture, Inc.; Chicago, IL): Carry out Whole Building Energy Modeling. Carry out detailed Life Cycle Cost Analysis to guide design team decisions. Provide building performance-related analysis and documentation for compliance with the LEED green rating system suite. Provide building performance-related analysis and documentation for compliance with the local building codes. Review project documents such as drawings, specifications, product submittals for compliance with certification requirements. Write reports communicating certification and provide recommendations for improved building performance. Conduct research and technical analysis, as required, for projects and reporting on findings. Identify strategies and solutions for clients that improve the performance and sustainability of the built environment. Interpret trends and statistics. Collaborate within a team setting as a team player to influence design and optimize project results. Life cycle cost analysis and cost-benefit analyses. Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and/or design teams.40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).
Requirements:
Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Building Science, Building Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Building Science, Building Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in the following: Energy management codes and standards including ASHRAE 90.1 and IECC; Building performance-related green building rating system analysis and documentation including LEED credit requirements and documentation; Life cycle cost analysis and cost-benefit analyses; and HVAC systems analytical comparison.
Must have an active BEMP license.
Must have an active LEED AP Building Design + Construction certification.
Telecommuting permitted 5 days a week.
Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 10%.
Travel to various international locations required up to 5%.
