Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-minded, and service-oriented team player to serve as a Law Library Liaison. The ideal candidate for this position will be a team-oriented individual who is able to adapt to the changing needs of the department, be a self-starter and motivational leader, and have a passion for Public Service. The individual selected for this position will organize, plan, execute, control, and evaluate the Northern Region operation of the Legal/Law Libraries. Additionally, the person in this position will monitor and review the operation of establishing and implementing paralegal standards, provide overall direction to Corrections Law Library Assistants, and provide counsel and advice to all Department of Corrections? library staff regarding court procedures and filing requirements. Job Responsibilities- Organizes, plans, executes, controls and evaluates the Northern Region operation of the Legal/Law Libraries for the Department of Corrections.
- Organizes goals, objectives and established policy guidelines.
- Plans and develops in cooperation with the Senior Librarian, in-service and continuing education training opportunities.
- Consults with the Senior Librarian regarding standards for law/legal library collections and services.
- Plans for efficient utilization of library fiscal resources and personnel to achieve goals.
- Serves on institutional committees and performs security duties when necessary.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
