Job Summary

We are seeking an Animal Care Technician I for our I nsourcing Solutions site in Chicago, IL

In the Animal Care Technician I role, you can do that by providing the highest-level quality assurance and control, in addition to coordinating preventative maintenance of equipment, as well as inspecting operation procedures to ensure the integrity of the research.

What you will do!

In the Animal Care Technician I role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to perform daily animal health observations, as well as animal husbandry duties, to maintain quality and health of research animals. You will also need to maintain accurate records of things like animal breeding, as well as housing or support areas, and you may also be tasked with receiving, inspection, and housing of incoming animals. You may assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of animal species, and you may become involved in the breeding and weaning procedures. Other duties may include monitoring personnel and equipment entry into various rooms, as well as operating required equipment and general housekeeping, when required.

Who are we looking for?

A candidate that possesses a bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with 1 year of animal care/handling required. Interest in achieving ALAT certification upon eligibility.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 – $18.76 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
