OCED is a multi-technology office responsible for overseeing more than $20B of investment in large scale demonstrations in emerging technologies such as clean hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced nuclear reactors, grid-scale energy storage, industrial emissions reductions as well as demonstrations in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions. We are looking for individuals with a range of skills and interest in large-scale clean energy demonstration projects, particularly in renewable systems, carbon capture and removal, hydrogen, and nuclear energy technologies.
The Property Appraiser/Cost estimator will assess the client demonstration projects and provide a value estimate on real estate and on tangible personal and business property. Appraisers and assessors estimate the value of property by collaborating with others, clients, and contractors and analyze “comparable,” or similar items or properties, to help provide values. Prepare written reports on property values. Prepare and maintain current data on each real estate property or other tangible asset. Verify descriptions of property, such as by consulting public records. Inspect property, noting its characteristics.
REQUIRMENTS
+ Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years of experience or a master’s degree plus 3 years of experience.
+ Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
+ Clean Energy experience desired but not required.
+ Experience in DOE environment is preferred.
+ Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
+ Must be detail-oriented and a team player.
+ Remote position on eastern time zone.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.? Work is mostly sedentary in nature but will require periodic standing and walking and lifting.? Must have good vision and be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.?
