The Opportunity

This position works out of our Lake Forest, IL location in the Core Diagnostics Division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.

As the Principal Professional Quality – Data Operations , you’ll be a Key Process Owner or SME for activities surrounding operational processes and / or metrics such as Executive Management Review, Global Management Review, Quality System Monitoring, Abbott Monthly Review, Division CAPA, etc. The incumbent may be a representative during internal and external inspections such as FDA, ISO, and AQR for inquiries surrounding identified processes and / or metrics.

What You’ll Work On

+ Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

+ Demonstrates a complete understanding of the standards and regulations impacting the area of responsibilities.

+ Ensures compliance with Division and Corporate policies and procedures. Implements and maintains the effectiveness of Core Diagnostics’ Quality System, including the Subsystems and Key Processes that govern the area by identifying compliance risks.

+ Assesses processes and/or interprets data to identify emerging signals or trends.

+ Solutions are compliant, innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organizational objectives.

+ Represents team on cross-functional projects with other functional leaders.

+ Communicates and interacts effectively with all levels of the organization

+ Contributes functional skills and expertise broadly.

Required Qualifications

+ Apprenticeship or Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required OR a relevant combination of education or experience.

+ At least 8 years of work experience in Quality or related field experience; Less experience may be appropriate with an advanced degree.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience in the healthcare industry, specifically Medical Devices, IVD preferred.

+ Process Excellence certified (Yellow Belt / Green Belt / Black belt) preferred.

+ Strong skill sets and proven use of Power-BI, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, etc.
