Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Scope 1 & 2 Emissions Data Management & Analytics Lead . Reporting to the Operational Net Zero Workstream Lead within our Corporate Net Zero (CNZ) team, this role will significantly contribute to the implementation of AECOM’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) / Sustainable Legacies Strategy with responsibility for Scope 1 and 2 emissions data management and analysis. The candidate will focus on emissions data from our offices and fleet vehicles to enable the reduction of Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 60% by 2030, and all emissions by 90% by 2040, to ultimately achieve science-based net zero by 2040. This is a significant opportunity for an ambitious candidate to drive operational change, reduce carbon and be a key person progressing one of AECOM’s top strategic priorities.

This position will offer flexibility for remote / virtual work schedules and can be based from a variety of locations in the US or UK.

Job Responsibilities

As a key member of the CNZ team you will:

+ Be a leader in the Environmental Data Management workstream by managing all aspect of AECOM’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions data management and reporting (e.g., interpreting fuel usage, energy bills, and real estate metrics)

+ Manage AECOM’s annual emissions calculation and verification program, including the development and implementation of data improvement initiatives

+ Monitor developments in external reporting standards and best practices then syndicate to inform data and reporting strategy

+ Prepare analysis, commentary, and presentation material for the monthly and quarterly Sustainable Legacies operational review meetings

+ Develop environmental data quality policies and processes

+ Provide key stakeholder groups including, AECOM Executive Leadership Team (ELT), ESG Council, Sustainable Legacies Steering Committee and regional ESG implementation teams with analysis and reporting

+ Support the annual planning process including greenhouse gas reduction initiative cost benefit analysis and offsetting forecasting

+ Be an active member of the CNZ team and participate in all meetings, forums, workshops

+ Use data visualization tools and techniques to inform decisions for various stakeholders

+ Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified

+ Work under limited supervision

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in a science, environmental, engineering, or quantitative field, or similar, plus at least 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools

+ Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly

+ Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

+ Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications :

+ Experience within a public company of similar structure and complexity to AECOM

+ Working knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tool

+ Working knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (https://ghgprotocol.org/)

+ Ability to establish strong working relationships. Effective at building appropriate rapport

+ Solid business acumen and ability to convey complex concepts

+ Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and work successfully both independently and in a team
