If you are a Certified Nursing Aid, we will get you going right away.
If you are interested in BECOMING a Certified Nursing Aid, we would love to consider you for our Nursing Aid in Training program:
+ You will initially have the opportunity to work as a Helping Hand and assist with activities, help with dining services, provide individual resident support, assist in the office, prepare for events, and participate or lead the many tasks that keep the community going strong.
+ You will be provided training days with our Certified Nursing Assistants to build familiarity with the role and ensure that it’s the right fit for you.
+ When the next Christian Horizons CNA class begins (~monthly) you will complete the theory portion online based on your schedule. Labs will take place for one week at the Christian Village in Lincoln, IL with clinicals to follow.
+ After completing your training you will be ready to take the certification exam and can enroll based on your level of readiness.
+ Exams take place at ICC and we will provide assistance with payment. While waiting for certification we will provide study resources and you will have others in the program willing and able to work with you on preparation!
+ Once certified, you will receive a pay increase and officially moved to the CNA role. While waiting for the position of choice (FT vs PT) to open up you may continue to supplement CNA hours with Helping Hands hours as the CNA pay rate.
+ If you are interested in continuing on to further your career in healthcare, we have opportunities including tuition reimbursement, flexible scheduling, and in house training.

+ Health care industry experience preferred.
+ Able to read and comprehend written resident care instructions and chart resident conditions.
+ Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
+ Able to follow written and oral directions.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Demonstrate dependability, cooperation, and interest in the care of the elderly.
+ Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, and visitors.
+ Have reliable transportation and committed to working for our community following certification.
+ The health and safety of our associates and residents is a priority. To this end, effective NOV 15, flu and Covid-19 vaccinations will be a condition of employment with the exception of an approved accommodation. Vaccines are offered free of charge.
