POSITION: Assistant Tennis Coordinator – F/T HourlyREPORTS TO: Tennis Coordinator

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Assistant Tennis Coordinator at the McFetridge Sports Center. The Assistant Tennis Coordinator is responsible for assisting and/or running beginner, intermediate, and advanced tennis lessons for kids and adults at the McFetridge Sports Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESInclude the following – other duties may be assigned:

+ Instructs group tennis lessons with knowledge of basic tennis skills and terminology

+ Responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of tennis instruction amongst staffs

+ Conducts in-house training for staff and/or have staff attend seminars for education

+ Works with the Tennis Coordinator on staff assignments.

+ Under the direction of the Tennis Coordinator, organizes and runs the Junior Team Tennis Program

+ Promotes the sport for exercise and fun within a safe and friendly environment for both participants and staff members

+ Is responsible for coverage when staff is on vacation or calls off

+ Completes administrative work as part of all other duties including but not limited to

+ Verbal & Written communication with patrons and student parents

+ Composing emails and preparing documents for JTT Program

+ Inventory of department supplies

+ Conduct professional interaction with patrons and members of the public

+ Any and all other duties assigned by the Tennis Coordinator

SKILLS REQUIREDPosition requires the ability to:

+ Maintain an overall positive attitude with clients, patrons, staff members, and management

+ Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills.

+ Punctual and reliable.

+ Must have flexible hours that adjust to programming needs.

+ Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

+ Ability to create and implement lesson plans.

+ Ensuring and following safety measures and regulations.

+ Physical ability to stand for 4-6 hours at a time while on the court.

QUALIFICATIONSApplicant should have coaching experience, including but not limited to:

+ 10 and Under Tennis, (Red, Orange, and Green Ball Coaching)

+ Junior Development

+ Adult classes and workshops

+ Must be PTR or USPTA level 1 certified or higher. Certification must be current.

+ Experience organizing leagues and/or Junior Team Tennis is preferred.

Ability to work 25-30 per week. Nights and weekends are required. Hours will vary with each scheduled program session.
