Technical Writer, Impact Forecasting in Chicago!

The Technical Writer within Impact Forecasting (IF) will work in collaboration with the Research & Development, Software and Catastrophe Management teams. These teams work to compile client-facing content that describes the global suite of IF models and solutions used for the quantification of natural hazard risk. Role Responsibilities:

+ Work to gather and develop technical model documentation to ensure consistency in quality and format

+ Align documentation plan with model development project plans to ensure planned results meet market requirements and timelines

+ Organize, store and analyze digital content to understand efficiency and potential improvement of existing and future results

+ Improve processes used to build and maintain content to streamline delivery

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

+ 5-7 professional years of experience in scientific writing or technical documentation

+ Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to connect with technical and non-technical audiences

+ A good understanding of content management principles including use of markup, tracking, imbedded objects, hyperlinks, graphics, and content layout

+ Experience with catastrophe modeling preferred

+ Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, or other scientific fields.

Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
