NATIONWIDE SEARCH: FAMILY NEAR PEORIA, IL SEEKS FULL-TIME LI

at The Nanny League in Peoria, Illinois, United States

Job Description

NATIONWIDE SEARCH: EDWARDS, IL- Growing family in central Illinois, just outside of Peoria, is seeking a FULL-TIME NANNY for their 11-year-old daughter, 3-year-old boy, and baby on the way (due November 2023). Their eldest is in the home 70% of the time, as she shares time with her dad who lives nearby. Someone who can live out is strongly preferred!

Standard hours are from 8/9am-6/7pm Monday-Friday; however, the family would appreciate some flexibility in scheduling from week to week to accommodate some weekday evenings and weekends if desired by the candidate. 40 hours/week guaranteed. Duties include complete childcare such as diaper changes (and potty training), healthy meal and snack prep for the kids/feeding, light cleaning, educational play and planning age-appropriate developmental activities, nap time routine, and general housekeeping related to the kids such as laundry and cleaning/organizing the play areas. They have a regular housekeeper, so no heavy cleaning, but they would like someone who can keep the kids’ areas neat and tidy, spot clean the kitchen after meals, etc. They have two cats in the home, so no allergies, please!

Their 11-year-old attends school from 8:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday. Nanny may need to help with school pick up and drop off. After school, she usually has multiple other extracurricular activities (dance, track, volleyball, etc.) so you will be responsible for wrangling her to and from activities some of the time! A family car can be provided for you to use while on the job as well as for your personal use if desired or needed. With the baby arriving in November, their 3-year-old will be attending preschool this fall, allowing the nanny to naturally transition into taking care of the infant while the others are in school. They plan to have a short-term doula/newborn care specialist helping with mom and the baby for the first few months after birth while mom is on maternity leave. The nanny will spend this time focusing on the older two kiddos and will take over for care of all three children once the doula/NCS’s term is over.

They anticipate some travel and would love for you to accompany them if and when they do! They typically take two domestic trips each year for no longer than 1-week stays. Ideally, they would also love someone willing to help on weekends and evenings if possible. The ideal candidate is flexible, professional, trustworthy, proactive and loving. They seek a nanny who has experience looking after children of similar ages, particularly infants, and is knowledgeable about child development and passionate about education overall.

They would love to work with a “career nanny”; someone with a passion for childcare, creating a stimulating and nurturing environment in which the children will continue to develop and thrive. They hope for someone who will become part of the family, creating a long-lasting professional and personal relationship. Vaccinations required (Covid + booster, TDAP and influenza). They would like for their nanny to be willing to wear a medical-grade mask if and when requested, as mom is high-risk due to pregnancy, as will the baby once he or she arrives. The family plans to continue to be “COVID cautious” for at least another year. While they don’t expect their nanny to take all the same strict precautions, and they certainly wouldn’t expect masking all the time, the nanny may be asked to wear a mask if s/he has any symptoms, travels, or during time periods of high community transmission. Masks are provided if needed.

Pay is commensurate based on experience. Benefits include paid sick days, holidays and vacation. Start date is ASAP.
