Position Summary
The Mechanical and industrial Engineering Department (MIE) at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) is seeking applications for a Post-Doc to conduct research in the area of fluid mechanics, non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, suspensions, and porous structures.

Duties & Responsibilities

Applicants are expected to have a strong background in Fluid mechanics and Fluid dynamics. Candidates with expertise on computational methods/CFD and/or hands-on experience in fluid mechanics and in technologies such as particle image velocimetry (PIV) and micro-PIV measurements are preferred. Matlab, Fortran and machine shop experiences are also plus. Excellent communication and written skills are required along with demonstrated success in previous academic research. Additionally, the selected candidates will be expected to oversee undergraduate and master students, collaborate with the team members, and write reports and publish peer-reviewed journal articles. The projects' team involves collaboration between Europe and US universities in both experimental and numerical analysis.
