Position Overview The Vice President of Dining Services & Hospitality is responsible for direction and oversight of the dining services and hospitality functions of the organization in accordance with the policies and practices of Presbyterian Homes, the laws, regulations and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities and organizations. The position is also responsible for the development and implementation of a Hospitality Plan to provide the organization with quality service today and positioning the organization for future growth. This position works in partnership with our Dining Services Provider – Unidine and provides managerial oversight and is responsible for support for the community’s dining services team in conjunction with the Executive Director of the Community. Essential Functions Dining Services Duties and Responsibilities

+ Financial Performance Review

+ Ensures Presbyterian Homes/Unidine is meeting/exceeding the Dining Services Financial Budget

+ Maintains and reviews the Dining vendor relationships/contracts. Partakes in meetings related to negotiation of contracts related to food vendors.

+ Understands and explains actual vs. budget variances monthly

+ Community Relationships

+ Understands and supports the community’s business objectives and challenges

+ Documents and maintains key operational & service metrics to support growth measurements for each community

+ Recommends and promotes innovative ideas/events that align with community needs

+ Team Development

+ Provides professional growth and development strategies and opportunities to identify talent and succession planning within the dining services departments

+ Creates an environment that supports high engagement levels, enhancing skill sets, and building high team morale and camaraderie among each dining services department

+ Regulatory Compliance

+ Responsible for tracking and trending key satisfaction data across the organization as it related to the dining experience and analyzing that data for global trends; form action plans for responses to such trends in coordination with other departments

Hospitality Engagement/Services

+ Works in collaboration with COO, Community Executive Directors, and Community Life Administrators to provide leadership for hospitality services that include dining services, environmental services, administrative services, concierge services and community activities which create and sustain high levels of resident satisfaction

+ Provides leadership for customer service efforts relative to improving the life of residents and their families

+ Works with COO/EDs/Community Life Admins in promoting a organizational culture of exemplary customer service and quality improvement

+ Anticipates the changing needs and expectations of the resident/customer and identifies and addresses gaps in the workforce skill set to address these changes

+ Works with the COO/ED/Community Life Administrator to coordinate the annual resident satisfaction survey process and drives the strategy to improve satisfaction

+ Spearheads the development, implementation, & assessment of residential/community services and experiences to produce growth of business and guest satisfaction

+ Motivates and leads a high-performance staff with a focus on excellence in hospitality and customer service

Skills/Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in business, management or equivalent, master’s degree or equivalent education preferred

+ 10 years of experience in hospitality, dining services, and/or long-term care

+ Training/education in Hospitality Services/Management is a plus

+ Experience within Chicagoland region and a deep understanding of the Aging Services field preferred

+ Not-For-Profit experience is a plus

+ Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol services policies, safety standards, etc. pertaining to Long Term Care Communities
