Job Description

Ford Next is seeking an Operations Project Specialist who will lead the operations planning, coordination, and validation for one or more of our new businesses. This person should have experience in setting up and running the operations of a physical or digital product business.

+ Lead the early-stage setup of launch operations, including selecting partners/vendors, planning for resource needs, and mapping our physical presence

+ Coordinate issue management and continuous improvement within our businesses

+ Collaborate with design and marketing teams to create the customer experience journey

+ Define and document operations policies, processes, and procedures as they pertain to specific business ventures

+ Create clear and concise operations point of view presentations for cross functional communication

+ Own the reporting of key performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve on them

+ Manage various aspects of the assembly and distribution of our products

The Person:

The Operations Project Specialist must have the ability to dig deep into every detail of delivering the business while keeping in mind the big picture and thinking strategically about building a scalable model. They need to be able to lead through positive influence and hold the inherent belief that success requires building meaningful relationships at all levels and functions of the organization. Credibility among the team and peers is essential, as well as a deep understanding of the Ford+ Plan and Ford Next’s role to deliver on it. The Operations Project Specialist will exhibit the Ford OS behaviors of Excellent, Focus and Collaboration and work diligently and ethically each day to help achieve success.

Perhaps most importantly, the Operations Project Specialist will need to have the desire and the conviction to embrace the challenge of building a business from the ground up and the accountability that comes with being one of the core leaders of our team. Being successful in this role will require diligence, adaptability, and a willingness to collaborate with teams across the organization.

The minimum requirements we seek:

+ Bachelor’s degree

+ 2+ years of vehicle prototype, launch, or operations experience

+ Ability to think and act independently in a fast-paced, unstructured, dynamic environment

+ Candidate should be disciplined, detailed, self-driven and determined to provide high quality outputs

+ Possess strong communication and relationship development skills, both internally and with partners

+ Willingness to truly get into the weeds and get the hands dirty to solve problems

+ Entrepreneurial in spirit, with the ability to work in a fast paced, startup environment

+ The ability to see the big picture and their team’s role in a financially healthy business

Our preferred requirements:

+ The best candidates will have experience in delivering new retail products to market and global supply chain management

+ Previous experience in a new growth, fast paced environment

+ Ability to build confidence with team members across the organization, at all levels

+ Ability to think and act independently in a fast-paced, unstructured, dynamic environment

+ Previous purchasing or supplier sourcing process knowledge

+ Prefer candidates local to SE Michigan
