Title: Senior Engineer, Lighting Systems – 98767

Onsite/Remote: Partial Remote Position

This position is eligible for remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, Operator Station Lighting for John Deere – Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) located in East Moline, IL or Waterloo, IA, you will….

+ Lead development and execution of Operator Station interior/exterior lighting for global Tractor, Crop Harvesting, Crop Care, and Hay & Forage cabs

+ Engage with global supply base to continually improve lighting cost, quality, and performance to exceed business and customer needs; advocate and support parts proliferation across the Enterprise

+ Develop off-road lighting specifications and associated OS component-level specifications in collaboration with product line experts

+ Develop on-road lighting & marking solutions (beacons, position lights, stop/tail/turn lights, amber warning lights, extremity lights, and reflectors) in collaboration with product line experts

What Skills You Need

+ 5 or more years design experience in electrical or mechanical systems

+ 3 or more years of part modeling, development, and release workflow experience

+ 1 or more years leading a complex design area or subsystem

+ 1 or more years leading supporting engineer(s) to successfully execute engineering tasks

+ Experience translating customer needs to system or component requirements and specifications

+ Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally to key suppliers, other Deere design centers and factories, and customers

What Makes You Stand Out

+ Design or test experience with on-road, off-road, or operator station electrical hardware or systems

+ Experience interacting with suppliers to deliver components to production

+ Experience with light pattern specification and analysis

+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively with global teams

+ Design or analysis experience with multiple materials, such as plastics, metal fabrications, and aluminum die castings

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering, or similar discipline
