Loyola University Chicago is seeking an Assistant Professor to design and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in applied economics, e.g., environmental economics, ecological economics, public economics; Conduct research on regional and national environmental issues with a focus on environmental justice, climate change, and renewable energy; Seek external funding from NSF , federal environmental agencies, leading independent non-profits such as RFF , and international funding institutions; Perform service to the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists and refereeing for leading field journals; Perform internal service in hiring committees, curriculum development, mentoring and advising students. Up to 40% remote work allowed. Up to 10% travel required.

Qualifications

Ph.D. degree in Economics or related field plus 5years related experience. Prior experience must include: Teach graduate courses in Environmental Valuation and Economics of Sustainable Development, and undergraduate courses in Public Economics, and Sustainable Development; Conduct funded research from the National Science and Technology Commission of Mexico on environmental justice and toxics pollution and publish in the #1 ranked field journal, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management; Interdisciplinary academic experience, e.g., curriculum development of Master’s in Environmental Economics with cross-disciplinary faculty, mentoring public policy and economics undergraduates, directing master’s theses; Teach undergraduate courses in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics and conduct research on the Clean Water Act regulation.
