Marcfirst is looking for part-time Groundskeeper/Janitor to work 20-25 hours per week, generally weekdays. With a primary focus on groundskeeping, this position will be responsible for maintaining litter control of designated areas in Bloomington-Normal. Janitorial duties to clean and maintain assigned facilities, locations or work site(s) will also be assigned.
Pay: $13.00/hour
Job Type: Part-Time (20 - 25 hours per week)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Properly collect and dispose of all street and sidewalk trash and liter.
- Perform seasonal duties as scheduled or assigned (snow removal, applying ice melt, leaf raking, trim grass, etc.)
- Clean and maintain assigned facility, location or work site(s).
- Clean and maintain floors by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and/or damp mopping as scheduled or assigned.
- Properly clean glass (windows, doors, mirrors, etc.) as scheduled or assigned.
- Properly clean, disinfect and sanitize required areas (restrooms, break areas, etc.) as scheduled or assigned.
- Properly dust as scheduled or assigned.
- Ensure that equipment used is properly maintained and in good working order.
- Use and follow proper security measures and safety procedures at all times including, but not limited to: following universal/standard precautions, using personal protective equipment (including reflective vest), using caution signs and operating equipment safely, etc.
- Ability upon request to change work schedule and/or work site in order to meet obligations.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as a team member
- Experience or training in the areas of groundskeeping and janitorial services preferred
- Experience using a carpet extractor and highspeed buffer helpful
- Ability to effectively convey ideas and issues with supervisors and coworkers
- Reliable transportation to travel between various work locations.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The position is outside in all weather conditions and the employee must be able to work in all temperatures and conditions.
