What you would do
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Technical Support Specialist. The Technical Support Specialist will administer and support several software programs, support the company's information technology (IT) hardware, provide help desk support, be part of future platform integrations, and help plan and support other efforts related to Hagerty's growing technology footprint.
Hagerty is seeking a Technical Support Specialist who can commit to 15-30 hours a week (part-time hours and/or a paid internship).
Candidates must be local to our corporate headquarters in Evanston, Illinois. While they are not required to work onsite, occasionally they may need to come into the office to process equipment.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide hardware/software support to office and field-level staff.
  • Administer various software programs.
  • Manage the inventory, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of hardware.
  • Help drive infrastructure consolidation and cyber security efforts.
  • Communicate with the team efficiently and effectively.
  • Having an eager drive to learn, adapt, be accountable, grow into the role and wear many IT 'hats.'
Candidates must have the following:
  • Experience in IT or a technology-related environment, which can include internship, part-time, or academic/work-study experience.
  • Fundamental proficiencies and knowledge in computer systems, networking, and software.
  • Technical familiarity with mobile devices (iOS and Android), Microsoft platforms/products (Windows 10/11, Office, SharePoint, MS Teams).
  • A detail-oriented, organized, persistent, and deadline-driven mindset.
  • Effective communication skills, including interacting with Hagerty professionals and executives on the phone to troubleshoot issues.
Additional Qualifications:
  • An undergraduate degree (or pursuing) in a technical field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems).
  • Prior helpdesk/service experience.
