Supervises, monitors and oversees all boiler room operations involving equipment and maintenance (including preventive maintenance) within a healthcare facility. Maintains all records and files to include records of outside contractors and/or maintenance personnel. Oversees work by outside contractors, as directed..

Job Responsibilities
+ Maintains friendly, efficient Spirit of Service attitude towards customers, co-workers and clients.
+ Supervises the safe operation of high pressure, oil/gas/coal fired water tube boilers and auxiliary equipment such as various types of pumps, desecrating tanks, surge tanks, air compressor blowers, electric and/or pneumatic operated controls, diesel generators and piping systems for oil, gas steam and water.
+ Monitors all control equipment and piping systems for proper operation by maintaining proper pressures, temperatures and flows.
+ Oversees and participates in the inspection, maintenance and/or repairs of all equipment used in steam and hot water generating plants, as well as water treatment and water softening equipment/systems used in chilled water, hot water and steam systems.
+ Maintains records and files including records of outside contractors and/or maintenance personnel. Oversees work by outside contractors, as directed.
+ Takes samples of water to check for alkalinity, softness, bacteria and conductivity. Chemically treats water based on test results and in accordance with the water treatment program developed for the respective system (hot water, chilled water or steam).
+ Reads graphs/charts and monitors logs. Maintains and prepares records and reports.
+ Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal government regulations.
+ Maintains compliance with ARAMARK’s standards of operation, client contract, Business Conduct Policy. Maintains all records and reports necessary to comply with ARAMARK/HSS, government and accrediting agency standards, regulations and codes.
+ Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
+ Performs all other related duties.

Qualifications

+ Position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
+ Possess a City of Chicago Stationary Engineers License
+ 1-3 years High Pressure Boiler and Chiller Operations Experience
+ Water Chemical Testing Experience.
+ Experience with computerized maintenance management systems desired.
+ Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics.
+ Position requires the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
+ Requires management and leadership skills and the ability to work with confidential employee, client and ARAMARK information.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
