Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Highway Design Engineer to join our team! Join us as we continue to transform roads and highways and enrich skylines all over the country!
We have been a leader in Integrated design and delivery of civil infrastructure for more than 75 years and are looking for experienced Highway Design Engineers at various levels of experience to add to our team in Chicago. We have a great backlog of work, in both conventional and design/build project delivery and are looking for strong leaders with the ability to lead projects and mentor a team of engineers and designers.

In this position you will perform highway, interchange, and street design including geometric design, 3D modeling, drainage design, work zone traffic control and construction staging, construction specification development and material quantity calculations. You will utilize engineering software and interface with CAD designers, as well as other engineers and subcontractors. Keys to your success will be your civil engineering acumen and highway design background.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
+ Independently develop and/or supervise the creation of roadway engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes establishing the work scope, engineering development, production of plans, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status. Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
+ Develop and optimize roadway geometry for major highway projects.
+ Lead a team of design professionals in assembling design reports and Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for major highway projects.
+ Establish quality control documents in association with the above mentioned assignments.
+ Support multi-disciplinary design development teams for project execution including for design-build projects in the Midwest and across North America.
Qualifications:
+ 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
+ Strong Illinois highway design experience including past projects for IDOT, ISTHA, CDOT, Cook and/or collar counties.
+ 8 + years’ experience working with roadway geometry for major highway projects including planning and final design.
+ Experience with development of plans, specifications, and estimates for large scale projects and/or experience leading a team of design professionals in PS&E submittals.
+ Illinois P.E. License desired or ability to obtain PE within 3 years of employment. Years of Illinois experience may be substituted for the PE license.
+ Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with highway design and checking is required.
+ Proficiency with Microstation and experience/working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer applications desired.
+ Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control documents in accordance with company procedures.

Salary Range:
$81,500.00 – $161,400.00
