In support of this mission, the Senior SAP Data Analyst will provide the daily leadership and support for SAP data analysis and reporting which includes building and maintaining reports, ad hoc queries, dashboards, and other visuals. The role requires strong technical and organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail, be adaptive to various competing demands and demonstrate the highest level of communication and responsiveness with team members and external resources.
Essential Job Functions
- Understand business stakeholders’ information reporting needs, objectives, and key performance metrics.
- Perform design, development, testing and deployment for both maintenance and minor enhancement reporting requests as well as manage system integrators on large projects and major enhancements.
- Lead the creation and implementation of new/enhanced SAP reporting functionality including the following:
- Identify and gather functional report requirements.
- Translate requirements into report design specifications.
- Develop recurring and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, scorecards, charts/graphs, and drilldowns.
- Coordinate, monitor, and perform testing.
- Plan and deploy new and updated deliverables into production system environments.
- Perform ongoing monitoring and maintenance of information reporting.
- Build and execute complex data queries and views.
- Troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis, and help facilitate the correction and resolution of defects with internal support teams and operations groups and/or with vendors.
- Monitor historical and real-time performances of key metrics to detect and report anomalies.
- Derive actionable insights through critical analysis and data visualization.
- Apply business analysis skills to complex business requirements and make recommendations for leading practice solutions, with consideration of associated business benefits, risks, cost and timescales.
- Create and maintain end user training material on reporting solutions.
- Contribute to establishment and compliance with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology, standards, tools, system documentation, procedures, practices, and goals; seek out and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to enable IT process standardization and optimization.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on BI tools and SAP data.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring for less experienced colleagues and power users as required.
- Strive to continually learn new reporting technologies while deepening knowledge in assigned areas by participating in SAP user community and continuous learning opportunities.
