Job Summary:


The Machine Operator will work in a great collaborative environment and be responsible for operating multiple machinery within the department and perform quality checks during production run. Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, shop orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


Job Responsibilities:

·         Perform duties required to operate machines within the department, operating several machines simultaneously when required.

·         Perform quality checks during production run, visually and dimensionally observing the condition of the finished parts to identify worn tooling and/or machine malfunction.

·         Able to understand and work from verbal instructions provided by senior level associates.

·         Assist higher grade operators as required.

·         Make machine adjustments to maintain size.

·         Use a hand or electric truck to move material.

·         Keep work area clean and neat.

·         Good attendance is required to assure the efficient operation of the department.

·         Must follow all company policies and safety rules and practices.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, shop orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

·         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

·         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
