Position Summary
The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford has several openings for Standardized Patients (SP). An SP is a person who will act/role play/portray a patient with a variety of medical conditions; a written script will be issued to the SP beforehand. Our students will then practice physical exams, medical history taking, and communication skills with the SP. No prior acting experience is necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

Accurately and consistently portray specific types of patients, knowing the history of their present illness, past medical history, physical exam results as well as their body language and their emotional and personality characteristics.
Simulate a variety of clinical scenarios including a patient's appearance, demeanor and affect, communication style, chief complaint, symptomatology, past medical history, and physical findings.
Give medical students feedback after simulation.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

Must possess and exhibit effective communication skills
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to memorize specifics of each case and be improvisational.
