IFF is offering a rewarding co-op position to bright, talented students seeking hands-on laboratory experience. This assignment would allow students to gain valuable industry experience. The assignment provides students with opportunities to develop by integrating classroom theory with practical work and to demonstrate their skills for future career opportunities at IFF.

We are currently seeking talented college students to join our Nutrition & Biosciences Probiotic R&D laboratory. Availability of the position starting in the Spring of 2023 located at our Madison, Wisconsin facility.

Our Nutrition & Bioscience Probiotic R&D Laboratory will enable you to gain valuable experience in an innovative industrial laboratory setting. The laboratory investigates probiotic addition to dietary supplement and food products as well as innovative methods for enumeration. As a Co-Op, you will have an opportunity to do the following:

Work in a dynamic team environment that leverages the resources of a large organization.
Develop an understanding of internal IFF probiotic research projects
Participate in work-specific training and development.
Work with experienced research technicians and scientists.
Be responsible for standard laboratory activities such as making media for enumeration, running an autoclave (sterilization equipment), cleaning of glassware, upkeep of shared laboratory spaces and restocking supplies
Assist with research experiments by performing microbiological and molecular (PCR) based methods.
Work in a business casual environment with flexible work/life opportunities.

Job Requirements

The following requirements MUST be met for consideration in the Probiotic R&D Co-Op position:

Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university
Currently at least a Sophmore in an undergraduate bachelor's degree program, or a first-year graduate student in a master's degree program.
Pursuing a degree in Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Food Science, Biology or related fields
A minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
Microsoft Office Suite experience - (especially Excel) and SharePoint
Ability to work 16 hours a week while enrolled in school; set schedule preferred
Strong interpersonal and leadership experience - such as community volunteerism
Organizational and analytical ability
Authorized in the U.S. without restriction
