The Early Childhood Teacher is a critical member of the Community Child Care Center of Palatine Township team, using Head Start, Early Head Start, and Creative Curriculum® to enhance the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of children through play and hands-on experiences. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will develop individualized lesson plans and meet with parents to support the best outcomes for your students. What you’ll do:

+ Be an active collaborator on the early childhood education team, helping to develop and implement individualized curriculum that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of your students.

+ Provide a learning environment that is safe and inclusive for all students.

+ Complete applicable screenings and evaluations, and document results.

+ Develop relationships with parents and families and encourage their involvement in the early childhood education program.

+ Actively supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in both classroom and outdoor settings.

+ Maintain student portfolios, including timely tracking and documentation of program activities and assessments.

Who you are:

+ Associate’s of Arts Degree Child Development or related field with eighteen (18) hours of Early Childhood Education credit required.

+ Gateways Early Childhood Education Level 4 credential required.

+ Illinois State Board of Education Paraprofessional Educator license required.

+ Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish strongly preferred.

+ You strongly believe that social skills, self-regulation, and emotional development are just as important as reading and math readiness in successfully preparing children for kindergarten.

+ You have a warm, open communication style and can easily build rapport with both children and adults.

+ You are attentive to detail, organized, and self-motivated.

+ You enjoy working collaboratively with a team to reach shared goals.

The details:

+ Location: Classroom setting (721 S. Quentin Rd. (https://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&f=d&daddr=721+South+Quentin+Road+Palatine,+IL+60067,+United+States) )

+ Schedule: Part-time, hourly; center is open Mon-Fri, 7:30am-5:30pm; assigned shifts will vary.

+ Staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to submit proof of their vaccination status before their start date unless they have an agency approved medical or religious exemption.

Compensation:

+ Salary: Range starts at $18hr; offers are commensurate with experience and bilingual candidates may receive additional financial compensation
