In addition we offer tuition waivers for employees and dependents. Click for a complete list of UIC is seeking an IT Support and AV Specialist to join our College of Pharmacy Rockford IT team. This role will provide technical expertise to faculty, staff, students, and affiliates; will serve as a service manager and provide project management and oversight for priority initiatives that support the College's mission; will create, direct, and deliver training, thus providing managed computing across the college's multi-sites. Provide support for the helpdesk at the Chicago and Rockford campuses.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide support for the helpdesk at the Chicago and Rockford campuses.
Act as a second-tier primary Service Manager for AV support for all College Classrooms and conference rooms in coordination with the Junior and Senior AV engineers.
Assure all ITIL/ITSM framework goals are achieved and design, develop, monitor, and report on metrics for our AV systems and support.
Refine knowledge base for AV and IT Service Desk Level 0, I, II support.
Review and perform corrective action and after-action reporting for all IT support based on customer surveys and feedback.
Provide detailed project management status for multiple IT projects.
Communicate with clients on status, priorities, in and out-of-scope items, and deliverables.
Provide managed computing for Windows and Mac / Apple desktop and laptop systems, and software/OS technologies for software, printing and scanning, as well as limited BYOD, tablet, wireless, email, calendaring, VPN, desktop backup/recovery and priorities.
Configure, maintain and troubleshoot wireless infrastructure in collaboration with campus IT resources to ensure ongoing wireless accessibility.
Train faculty, staff, and students on new offerings and technical systems. Set expectations for IT and AV classroom support, coordinate, and provide timely resolution to requests within Pharmacy IT service levels.
Obtain and maintain industry certifications and comprehensive desktop policies/ procedures knowledge. If not already Network+ or CTS certified, the IT Associate will be required to obtain a CompTIA or CTS certification within 18 months of employment.
Act as Second-Tier Service support for managing the College of Pharmacy network connection and continued connectivity between Chicago and Rockford, especially as it supports our distance education technology program.
