This role will support Propulsion Electrification programs and lab activities within the Electric Power Systems value stream including “The Grid” – the most advanced electric power systems lab in the industry. The System Integration Test Equipment team is looking for a Principal Project Engineer to develop project plans and budgets, pursue cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability, and monitor project performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Manage complex projects, working with a cross-functional team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineers

+ Create and maintain project schedules and budget forecast for new system development programs, as well as capital projects

+ Identifies and reacts to project issues and recommends solutions

+ Manage work packages and schedule with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

+ Provide metrics and associated analysis to the program office for periodic Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting

+ Work closely with the Section Manager to assign project priorities, assign engineering resources to projects, and assess risks.

+ Lead weekly Project status reviews with team

+ Provide project status reports to Senior Management, Program Management and Finance

+ Primary focal point between Engineering Test Equipment and internal and external customers

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

+ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ 3+ years related experience

+ MS Project knowledge required

+ EVMS knowledge preferred

+ Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products
