Job Description
This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at a U.S. Bank location, while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.
U.S. Bank is expanding the User Experience Design (UXDesign) team in support of our business transformation to a human centric experience. This is no “business as usual” group. Responsibilities include:
+ Conducts and delivers UX research work that meets or exceeds the stated business goals and which is clearly and objectively measured and reported to prove our return on design investment.
+ Leads and crafts UX research to ensure excellence in research, facilitation, artifacts, presentation skills, and distilling actionable insights for partners.
+ Partners effectively with other UX design disciplines, business line clients, product and channel management, marketing, analytics, delivery PMO, Information Technology and other teams to strengthen relationships and understand the business while delivering solid research.
+ Derives measurable objectives against which UX research work will be evaluated for success.
Examples of Projects include:
+ Examples of work in this role includes research with different customer segments, including consumers, wealth management customers, business owners and corporate/commercial clients. You will explore users’ needs, mental models and pain points, potentially in both mobile and desktop environments. Your results and recommendations will influence product and design decisions throughout the bank.

UXDesign Researcher
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis on UX, design research, psychology, social science or another relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience
- Three to five years of UX design research experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Familiar with a variety of research methodologies, when to apply them, and when to make tradeoffs
- Ability to deliver impactful and clear UX design research in a way that drives and directs better product/project outcomes
- Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to facilitate collaborative sessions
- Familiar with agile project management and how UX research functions within it
- Demonstrated analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
UXDesign Senior Researcher:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis on UX design research, psychology, Human Computer Interaction, social science or another relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience
- Five to eight years of UX design research experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Clear understanding of how to conduct, manage, and deliver UX design research work
- Very familiar with a variety of research methodologies, when to apply them, and when to make tradeoffs
- Ability to deliver impactful and clear UX design research in a way that drives and directs better product/project outcomes
- Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to facilitate collaborative sessions
- Experience with agile project management and how UX research functions within it
- Demonstrated analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
UXDesign Researcher Manager:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Eight or more years of related work experience with at least four years of direct or matrixed team leadership experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Well-versed in the lending product category (how these products work and their business model)
- Considerable knowledge of design thinking process and framework, and familiarization with workshop and co-creations
- Service Design knowledge a plus
- Considerable experience delivering user-centered recommendations from discovery to concepting to MVP to scale
- Knowledge of website architecture, interactive design principles, web usability, and online marketing and business needs
- Familiar with common design software – Figma, Sketch, etc.
- Experience working in a cross-channel ecosystem, including desktop/laptop, mobile, devices and brick-and-mortar locations; internal facing systems experience a plus
- Considerable experience collaborating with large teams
- Strong storytelling skills (synthesis, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills)
- Ability to problem-solve and work independently
- 7+ years UXDR
- Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis on UX research, social sciences, psychology, Human Computer Interaction or another relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience
