Jazz Pharmaceuticals is an international biopharmaceutical company focused on improving patients' lives by identifying, developing and commercializing meaningful products that address unmet medical needs. We are continuing to expand our commercial product portfolio and research and development pipeline in therapeutic areas that can leverage our unique expertise.
Our therapeutic areas of focus include neuroscience (epilepsy, movement disorders and sleep) and hematology/oncology - areas in which we have a deep understanding of the patient journey and a suite of products and product candidates to address critical needs.
The Associate Director, Payer, Value & Outcomes (PVO) serves as the field-based scientific lead for medical payer engagement strategy across therapeutic areas for Jazz marketed and pipeline products and is the medical point of contact for key US payers. As payers continue to shift from population-base to patient-centered formulary management, special evidentiary requirements, including real-world evidence (RWE) and health care economic information (HCEI) become increasingly important to the medication coverage decision-making process. The Associate Director, PVO support payers sophisticated evidence needs with research and scientific exchange of data, including real-world evidence (RWE) and HCEI in alignment with the 21st Century Cure's Act to inform evidence-based formulary, utilization and access decisions on Jazz products and in relevant therapeutic areas. The Associate Director understands key scientific questions, identifies evidence gaps, provide customer insights that inform medical and value evidence generation plans and collaborates to generate research. The Associate Director, PVO works closely with other medical colleagues and cross-functional partners (Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research (GHEOR), Real World Evidence (RWE), MedComm, Market Access, etc.) to demonstrate the value proposition for Jazz' products, technologies and services in support of optimal patient care.
Essential Functions
Serve as the first-line Jazz medical point of contact for clinical, health outcomes, and real-world evidence, and provide support across therapeutic areas to key national formulary decision-makers in a manner consistent with Jazz' principles for scientific engagement.
Develop Scientific Account Plans with strategic tactics for key accounts that demonstrate a deep understanding of payer's population-management strategies, scientific priorities, evidence needs, decision-making processes, and clinical perspectives on Jazz products.
Build relationships and establish scientific and professional credibility within national managed care organizations, health care systems, government payers, and with other stakeholders involved in formulary management, medication positioning, value discussions and health care policy.
Engage in credible and transparent scientific information exchange that resonates with payers when responding to unsolicited requests for clinical, health outcomes and pharmacoeconomic information and proactively communicates HCEI in alignment with the 21st Century Cure's Act.
