Position Summary 
 The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor position is directly responsible for the management of a designated caseload of prospective students with the primary goal of moving them through the admission process, consisting of: lead generation and converting on-campus prospective student inquiries to applicants, and ultimately to enrolled students; visit high schools and community colleges; attend regional college fairs representing USF; and build relationships with high school guidance and community college counselors and appropriate academic and non-academic departments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
 Primary responsibility of conducting student-centered on and off campus recruitment initiatives including presentations, personal interviews, transcript evaluations, financial aid counseling, registration of students, and other related admission counselor duties
Foster relationships with area high school guidance counselors, community college counselors, and other appropriate school and community stakeholders to further develop their understanding of the University and its programs
Complete accurate transfer credit evaluations and maintain current knowledge relative to transfer credit policies as stated by the Registrar and other University officials
Attend all campus-wide recruitment events such as Open Houses, Visit Days, Scholarship Days, New Student Registration, etc.
Review and evaluate student admission applications for admission and scholarship opportunities
Act as liaison between admitted transfer students and the academic advising office
Participate in professional organizations and professional development opportunities to maintain current on trends in college admissions
Participate in and promote a culture of continuing quality improvement
Use social media to promote programs and events (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc.)
Other responsibilities will be assigned as necessary
Minimum Requirements 
 Bachelor's degree
Demonstrated ability to speak in front of small and large groups
Ability to build relationships and network with other university personnel, parents, students, high school and community college counselors, teachers, alumni, and other affiliates
Proven organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
A creative and energetic person committed to working in a team environment
Ability to participate in a fast paced, creative, change-oriented and success-driven environment
Excellent time management skills
Working knowledge of personal computer applications (Microsoft Office, email)
Valid driver's license. (Must have own car - mileage is reimbursed for university activities)
Must have web-enabled phone package (monthly stipend to offset service costs)
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position - carrying informational materials, walking distances, extended time standing
Willingness to support the Catholic, Franciscan values of the university
Preferred Requirements 
 Bilingual in Spanish and English
One to two years of consumer-facing sales experience or work experience in college or university recruitment/admissions
Hours/Shift/Work Schedule 
 Minimum of 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, Travel to recruiting events, and some evening and weekends required.
Physical Requirements of Position 
 Work is performed in office and at off-campus locations with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent traveling in a vehicle, working on a computer and using a phone. Some travel is required using the employee's own vehicle. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
