Job Description
Fulfillment Specialist / Driver
This job involves prepping, packaging, fulfilling, delivering, and picking up material as needed to meet our customers requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
- Load/unload delivery trucks and arrange incoming deliveries in designated storage areas.
- Perform warehouse duties using pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Read and decipher Bill of Lading (BOL) orders and confirm material information matches BOL order.
- Locate and extract material from shelves and storage areas.
- Inspect material for damage, flaws, and irregularities.
- Scan items or manually update computer system to accurately track inventory.
- Package material for delivery.
- Drive company vehicle to make customer deliveries and pick-ups, obeying traffic laws and safety procedures. Maintain appropriate licensing, credentials, and acceptable driving record.
- Perform vehicle and/or forklift inspections (with training) as required, notifying management of routine maintenance or repairs needed.
- Keep company vehicle and work area in clean and orderly condition.
- Answer telephones professionally and pleasantly, assisting customers, and providing excellent customer service.
- Assist in maintaining warehouse and office as needed. Clean warehouse, office area, restrooms, etc.
- Maintain security and confidentiality and adhere to best practice health and safety procedures.
- Conduct self in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Demonstrate a positive attitude and treat customers, associates, and co-workers with courtesy and respect.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance, wearing company uniform as required.
- Participate in ongoing education and training as required.
- Perform other responsibilities as directed.
Position Requirements:
- 21 years of age or older with high school diploma or GED. Fluent in English. Authorized to work in the United States. Great attendance and punctuality.
- Clean driving record with a valid drivers license (Class D). Minimum 5 years driving experience. Comfortable driving and parking company vehicle in metro Chicago and suburbs.
- Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms; in a fast-paced environment. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb, balance, or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 15 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate material production, order filling and receiving of material. The employee is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks. The employee is required to be able to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and company vehicles.
